Eastern North Dakota
- Sheyenne Valley Scenic Byway - this is an overview site
- Sheyenne Valley Scenic Byway Map - this map has each specific site listed on a map -will be helpful as we drive along this 63 mile byway

- Along the River Scenic Byways - this is another site that with information about the Sheyenne River Byway with descriptions of the sites along the way
- Fort Ransom State Park on the Sheyenne Valley Scenic Byway - has unique lodging - house, yurt, wagon, honey house.
- Sheyenne National Grassland - part of National Forest Service lands - close to Lisbon, NS
Central North Dakota
- Old Red Old 10 Scenic Byway - this was one of the first scenic byways like the Lincoln Highway in Iowa that we traveled on in 2017. We would take this one on the way to Medora.
- Old Red Old Ten Scenic Byway - Talking Trail - lists signs along the route that you can call to hear a recorded message about the site.
- Bismark /Mandan from the North Dakota Tourism site
- Sakakawea Scenic Byway - this one is north of Bismark and includes Fort Mandan - this could be an option over Old Red Old Ten - it could also include the Killdeer Mountain Four Bears Scenic Byway and then back south to Medora
Western North Dakota

- Lake Sakakawea is about 1.5 hours from the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park - there are several state parks on this lake - this site has descriptions of them.
- Killdeer Mountain Four Bears Scenic Byway - this is north of Dickinson and south of the north unit of TRNP. Could visit either on the way to or from the north unit. The Little Missouri State Park is along this route.
